Lead Carpenter

Position is full-time, competitive wages based on experience, medical benefits available, and Retirement plan with 3% company match available.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Lead Carpenter who will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations on job sites, ensuring quality and timely completion of projects, interpreting blueprints and specifications and managing subcontractors.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, organize and work with a team of other workers and subcontractors as necessary
  • Ensure that work is completed safely, on time, and to quality standards
  • Check and communicate project progress with company owner on a daily basis
  • Maintain an operational inventory of necessary tools, safety equipment, materials and vehicles to perform the specific activities required for the projects
  • Train and mentor others to develop their skills and knowledge
  • Be knowledgeable regarding the Scope of Work of each project in order to coordinate and complete them on time and in and efficient manner
  • Assist in the company’s marketing program as directed, which may include home shows and job-site marketing.
  • Attend all required company client meetings

Qualifications

  • Must be able to perform all duties listed in the Carpenter position description.
  • Strong background in carpentry plus 2-3 successful years in leadership/supervisory positions
  • Effective communication skills
  • Have a keen eye for detail
  • Be able to problem solve
  • Possess excellent time-management skills
  • Ensure company and customer satisfaction through professional appearance, expert workmanship and polite communication
  • Possess knowledge and skills in a variety of categories such as carpentry, drywall, painting, plumbing, electrical, flooring, tile work, custom trim and others

Carpenter

Role Description

The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a carpenter, having hands-on experience in working with various carpentry materials. They should have an excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction. They should be proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (power saws, hammers, rulers, etc.) and have the ability to read technical documents and drawings. They must have the willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times, a good knowledge of and communication skills using English, and a good understanding of basic math. They must be in good physical condition and have endurance.

Qualifications

  • Keep job site neat and clean.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum 2-3 years experience and/or evidence of any relevant certifications or Successful Completion of Carpentry Apprenticeships.
  • Ability to read Blueprints
  • Able to organize assigned tasks for completion alone or with help
  • Good Work Ethic and Honesty
  • Must provide basic hand tools, work belt, proper work attire.
  • Must have dependable transportation and a good driving record
  • Must have ability to perform physically demanding work on a consistent basis, including lifting 80 pounds
  • Qualified to do framing, trim work, siding, roofing, painting and drywall work. Capable of ladder, stair and rafter work.
  • Work safely. Maintain job site safety for workmen and the client.
  • Submit descriptive time records daily, as required.
  • Daily communication with the lead carpenter or owner.
  • Treat client’s home and belongings with respect.
  • Work in a productive manner producing a quality product. Take pride in your work.
